New Purchase

muertemaria's picture

Since the sun does not come up here until after 8am still. I am having a very hard time getting up in the morning. So I have decided to do something about it. I bought the Philips Wake-Up alarm clock. Exciting. It comes next week.

S&C expansion

langster's picture

If you haven't already heard, the Shoes & Cocktail enterprise has expanded. We are very, very excited to have LC's younger sis, Miss Mojito (or Miss M for short) as a regular blogger. You can check out her first post at: http://shoesandcocktails.com/2009/01/07/new-year-new-shoes/. Kind-of a no-brainer for me -- you know she has good taste if she's related to LC.

New Years Resolutions - Broken

muertemaria's picture
So I think the only real resolution that I had for 2009 was to leave work by 6:30. Day two of work. I have already broken it by being here until 7. Blah! Anyone else already broken resolutions?

Yummy Foods Tour

muertemaria's picture

While not really a foodie tour, I did have an amazing time back in the US and wanted to catalog all the yummy food I had missed and ate in the US.

Let's start at the beginning:

For all you New Yorker readers

Check out the article about Will Oldham - my friend Jennifer (who did my wedding invitations) and her brother are mentioned in it

RIP Radar and Johnny Cakes

So That Happened - the deets

By popular request - here are the fabulous details from an amazing night!

You all know that Jerry is an amazing writer, and a very thoughtful person. Since we met I have received cards and letters and poems every once in a while that I love!

So, for our anniversary on December 2nd Jerry and I exchanged cards.

Jer wrote me a poem and said that it would take more than one card to say everything....so since then I have gotten a card every day with a new thought!

All the cards have had the same image on them - of a bridge in Central Park, just below the Plaza Hotel and next to Wollman Rink.

Last night he surprised me with dinner at one of my favorite places, and then with a drink at the new champagne bar at The Plaza. And, of course, a quick visit to see Eloise. (Since I am a kindergarten teacher and a native New Yorker she is a big deal!)

And all night Jerry was talking about all the Christmas lights in the city and all the internet reading he does about events in the city and on and on....so he suggests we walk into the park. For some reason I decided there must be fireworks at Wollman Rink or something.

So That Happened

We can't wait to do this in person, so for now Isabelle and I wanted to announce that we are officially engaged.  We can't wait to celebrate with all of you - both at NYE and later on this year!

Moving downtown

My office is officially moving to Eastern Market tomorrow. I am now available for lunches, happy hours, and dinners in the city. Very excited to join the ranks of city-workers.

Boarding Pass Printed

muertemaria's picture

Just printed my boarding pass for tomorrow. It is actually here! Car rental reserved, I have a window seat for my 8 hour flight - awesomeness.

I am doing happy hour with FH on Friday at 6 at the Big Hunt if anyone wants to come along.

Can't wait to see everyone just have to get through a few more hours at work then off for a long holiday!

because I will mostly be on planes the next few days I wanted to leave everyone with something else. A shark attack!!!!
