Culinary Journey through Hell

muertemaria's picture

Someone took a flight on Virgin from Mumbai to London and they sent this note (via the telegraph) about their experience. It is a great read an excerpt:

"Ironically, by the end of the flight I would have gladly paid over a thousand rupees for a single biscuit following the culinary journey of hell I was subjected to at the hands of your corporation...

...Now I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking it’s more of that Baaji custard. I admit I thought the same too, but no. It’s mustard Richard. MUSTARD. More mustard than any man could consume in a month. On the left we have a piece of broccoli and some peppers in a brown glue-like oil and on the right the chef had prepared some mashed potato. The potato masher had obviously broken and so it was decided the next best thing would be to pass the potatoes through the digestive tract of a bird."

Read the whole letter. Richard Branson actually responded in the end.

I love HIMYM and Barney- this news makes me love him even more!

Actor Neil Patrick Harris was left red-faced at a TV academy event in Hollywood - after leaving his microphone on during a visit to the bathroom. The How I Met Your Mother star was on stage at a fan question-and-answer session on Tuesday to discuss his hit TV series along with co-stars Jason Segel, Alyson Hannigan, Cobie Smulders and Josh Radnor.

But after leaving mid-discussion to visit the restroom, Harris was caught short when he forgot to turn off his mic - leaving the shocked crowd listening in.

Harris was heard giving himself a pep talk, saying, "Wake up!" before being informed of his embarrassing broadcast by his publicist.

I have been in two theatre's in the past few weeks here one a movie theatre and one a west end show. There are some similarities and some differences.

-There is always at least one light left on in the theatre and I seem to always have a seat underneathe it. It is really annoying

- The seats are from 1985 at the latest and very small and squished together

So I saw Twilight again and last night I saw Avenue Q. I liked both. The main girl in Avenue Q was a really great singer and she was a pleasure to watch not only her but her puppet. If you haven't seen it yet, I would suggest it as a show to see. Puppets are funny.

What have I been reading this week

muertemaria's picture

I am low on material this week and my big weekend was getting a cleaner (YES!!!) So here is the listing from my Delicious account of what I bookmarked this week. Also some other sites that I cannot seem to go without.

First off - What is delicious? It is a free website which you can use to bookmark and tag your favourite sites and articles. Instead of just hitting bookmark in your browser, this way if you find an article or a site that you like you can add it to your delicious account and tag it with certain words so you can find it again easily. You can also see what other people have bookmarked as well. I love it. You see so many things online this way it helps to keep it somewhat organized. I highly recommend it.

So mostly this is a list of articles for work so NERD ALERT on almost all but maybe you will find them interesting as well:

Super Bowl Party

langster's picture

The Churchill's are having a Super Bowl Party. Evite will go out soon. After the Colts lost, I was hoping for an all Pennsylvania match up -- we could have served all PA beer, cooked all types of PA food. It would have been a great theme. Now, I'm a tad uninspired with Pheonix vs. Pittsburgh. I'm still planning to make lasagna, and would be happy if others brought other food items (maybe an antipasta, salad, delicious dessert?).

And I welcome any other ideas for this Cardinal-Steelers game.

Lost Season 4 Recap

Thanks to Pajiba - Here is a recap of last year in preparation for the new season!

Huge news!!!

Kristen Bell's short-lived U.S. TV series Veronica Mars is set to be revived for the big screen.

The Forgetting Sarah Marshall actress starred as the title character in the cult series for three seasons before it was dropped by the U.S. network CW Television in 2007.

But fans will be thrilled to see the return of private investigator Mars - the show's creator Rob Thomas is in talks with former cast members to make a feature film version, according to gossip blogger Perez Hilton.

Welcome Calvin Francis Briscoe!

langster's picture

If you haven't already heard (then, you should be on facebook), Katie pushed out 7 lbs 5 oz Calvin yesterday, sometime after 11pm. After 11 hours of labor, Katie is tired but Jack's baby bro is doing well. They should be going home on Sunday. Hooray for the newest member of the Briscoe family -- we can't wait to meet you!

13 inches and growing

Jon and I decided that we are finally ready to upgrade our tv to something other than the fancy 13-inch vcr combo that currently resides in our living room.  However, neither of us are educated enough on the current trends to make a confident decision on what we should buy.  This is clearly the crowd to ask: we're looking for a bargain, and nothing too over-the-top.  Since our tv area is in a corner (i.e. on a diagonal), I don't think we can actually mount anything on the wall.

 What do you guys recommend?

American Idol is on here!

muertemaria's picture

I came home tonight and flipping through the channels and what do I see? But American Idol is on in the UK. It is on Thursday and Friday nights, but it is on! Exciting. I can still do my recaps, granted they will be a few days late. This probably means I am not going to be in on the pool, because you will all have the advantage of seeing it days ahead of me.

New site where you can upload a picture and create your own Obama poster with you. It is pretty cool. I tried to get a picture but the system is a little overloaded I think at the moment.

Try for yourself -

I did one of the picture I have on my harddrive of my goddaughter Aly.

AI- pay up

LO's picture

Please pay me what you owe from last year so i can consider doing the pool again without the added risk of being out hundreds of dollars.  Anyone want to volunteer to be the bank?  Either way- please, please pay me.

Can't wait to meet the new judge!
